Date: 10 am to 3 pm, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Stitchin' Post
Craft: Sashiko stitching
Skill Level: Beginner
Techniques used: hand stitching with embellishments
Class Project: Journal/book covers
Supply List: Embellished Journal Covers
Required: Must be able to use a sewing machine and have some familiarity with hand stitches or simple embroidery.
Covers for journals or your latest book club book are simple to make and provide a blank canvas for your creativity. If quilting is your jam, you can piece or applique it out of favorite fabrics; if hand-stitching is your thing, you can use decorative stitches, beads, ribbons, wool felt …. or whatever…… or maybe all the above! Bring your sense of adventure.
In this class you will begin by finishing a simple version to learn the process of construction. You will then move on to design and begin an embellished version which you can work on during class and complete at home.
