Teacher Bio: Click here
This quilt it inspired by Scott’s favorite Japanese Maple – The Coral Bark variation or ‘Sango Kaku’ to be exact. Aki is the Japanese word for Autumn but you can make your Aki quilt in any color scheme you want! The original Aki quilt is in a lighter Fall palette infused with multitudes of Pinks and Corals mixed with more traditional Reds, Yellows, and Oranges. Yours can be all Brown Plaids, or Green and Brown Batiks, or maybe a neon background with Bright Modern Leaves of ALL of the colors! These leaves do not have perfect points. In Scott’s classic Blue Nickel Urban Folk style, they are perfectly imperfect!
