Sparkle is a slightly wonky “neotraditional-modern” block that uses the background of the block to create a secondary pattern with lots of options. Slightly maverick piecing is forgiving and the quilt is full of movement. Pick your color story using the background and three main colors of your choice, then spend the day experimenting and playing with colors and value in Scott’s Mad Color Scientist fashion.
The model is done in a decidedly vague Christmassy holiday direction, yours could be in your school colors, your favorite season's colors, your tribe's colors. Any combination will be epic and Sparkle like crazy!
In class, we will go over some tips for easier sewing as well as color choices and for those who want it, some basic Foundation Paper Piecing (if you want to try this option, please copy and print up a few of the FPP sheets in the back of the pattern).
