Idea, Design, Create, Quilt is a class that walks students through making a quilt that they design from idea or concept. The week-long class is broken into each stage. Idea to Design will consist of a series of exercises to get students familiar with creating a series of designs from a photo or concept. During the creating section you will explore various piecing and applique techniques and once your top is completed various quilting styles will be examined with students trying out hand quilting, straight line and free motion quilting.
Students will come away with various samples of piecing and quilting techniques but may not have a finished quilt at the end depending on size, and complexity of techniques used. The goal of this class is to make sure you have the plan and ideas to take with you along with skills to finish on your own.
