Use this color fixative as a pre-treatment on commercially dyed cotton fabrics or clothing to help stop colors from bleeding in the wash. It also improves the colorfastness of fabrics you’ve dyed yourself. For best results, apply Retayne before the fabric’s first wash or before adding it to your quilt. Note: Retayne is not effective in high-efficiency front-loading machines—you’ll need to use a top-loading washer or treat your fabric in the sink.
