Knitting for Olive Pure Silk -Pea Shoots

This 100% pure raw silk fingering weight base is perfect for lightweight summer garments!  This yarn is sustainable produced as indicated by the little butterfly on the label, letting you know that it is produced from silk fibers collected from cocoons after the chrysalises are allowed to mature into moths and escape. 

Silk has extensive heat-regulating qualities and can therefore be used in garments all year round.  This yarn is especially suitable for summer wear because silk can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture while still feeling dry against your skin.   Silk has insulating properties retaining heat in cold weather, similar to wool.
