Designer: Amy Smart - Diary of a Quilter
Techniques Used: Conventional piecing
Skills Needed: Conventional piecing - straight seams, bias and straight edges, quilt layout
Type : Printed Pattern
5 Finished Sizes: Crib, Throw, Twin, Queen & King
Fat 1/8 and Fat 1/4 Friendly!
This quilt pattern uses Amy's quick method for making a very-traditional Churn Dash quilt block, plus the pattern is both Fat Quarter and Fat Eighth friendly! It's a perfect quilt project for busting through some of your stash or using up some of those fat quarter bundles you’ve got sitting around. This quilt is also great for playing around with different color palettes - the trick behind making a “controlled scrappy” quilt, as seen in some of the other photos, is collecting a bunch of light and dark prints with good contrast between them. Pay attention to all factors - value, color, & scale.
