Required: Sewing machine with a few decorative stitches.

Try some "improv applique" by cutting simple freeform shapes into stabilized and folded fabrics. These unique shapes will evolve into several small fabric collages. You will also learn Jane's accessible machine applique techniques while sharpening your design and machine embroidery skills. Applique can be modern!!

Applique collage can be more direct and more flexible than pieced compositions. Portable pre-made shapes allow spontaneous possibilities and creative decision making is involving through the whole process from cutting and composing and to construction. Add a new technique to your toolbox!

We will cut into stabilized fat quarters and use the resulting shapes in a unique collage composition.
