Lodge style quilts appeal to the adventuresome person who likes the outdoors. One of the quilts is made of flannel and the other two of cottons. All of the quilts feature fusible appliqué images that can be hand or machine buttonhole stitched. The piecing techniques include log cabin, one patch, and checkerboard.
In the Woods - Surround simple squares with “woodsy” motifs using buttonhole stitch appliqué. Use either flannels or cotton prints to make this quilt. A variety of plaids, stripes, and textured fabrics for the blocks make this an interesting quilt. This quilt could easily be made larger or smaller by adding to or taking away the six inch blocks. Finished size of the blocks is 6”.
Cabin Creek consists of log cabin blocks and buttonhole stitched applique´ blocks. The log cabin blocks, grouped in units of four, are scrappy in theme. Use your favorite method of buttonhole stitching, either hand or machine. Finished size of the log cabin block is 6” and finished size of the appliqué block is 12”.
Deer Trail Lodge - Leaping bunnies, a deer, and fish combined with trees and a cabin complete this charming wallhanging. Checkerboards separate the sections. Enlarge this quilt by making this the center, then add borders.
