Jason Yenter designed this fabric line with the help of A.I. to get the animals and steampunk imagery just the way he wanted it. It was then digitally printed onto fabric, enabling crisp definition and sharp focus. "Steampunk" is is a sub-genre of science fiction and fantasy, based on the idea of an alternate Victorian timeline, where technology and mechanical things are powered by steam and gears.
For our quilt, we started with the large menagerie panel, which features a collection of animals - a peacock, elephant, bear, zebra, etc.- done in a fantastical steampunk style. We used the coordinating fabrics - gears, rusty metal textures, rivets, pipes, and world maps - to create multiple borders to bring this quilt up to a comfortable lap or large wall size.
Kit includes the pattern and everything you need to make the quilt top, including binding.
To complete this quilt, you will need:
3 1/2 yards backing
63” x 68” quilt batting
