We are excited to present the artwork of Sisters artist Kelly Rae Roberts for our 2023 Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show poster, celebrating the theme, “Hidden Stories.”
About the artist:
Self-taught artist, Kelly Rae Roberts, believes in the power of possibility. A former social worker, Kelly Rae picked up her first paintbrush at age 30 and everything changed. Painting brought her what she was craving: healing, unburdened joy, awakening. Her tender style of truth-telling and her possibility-driven approach to life, work, & art spread like wildfire and her art has been featured in countless books, magazines, and licensed products. She is the creator of several beloved e-courses, books, and retreats that focus on the idea that when we let art out, we let love in.
Kelly Rae moved to Sisters, OR in 2019 with her son True, husband John, and two English Bulldogs, Lulu and Amelia. She loves the quiet, the creative community, the small town feel. She is thrilled to be the poster artist for the 2023 Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. Weaving her signature mixed-media collage and paint style, she was inspired to create a quilt-like butterfly, pieced together with various papers, as the focal point. She then created the supporting imagery Sisters is known for: our gorgeous mountains, pines, and flowers. She loves how it turned out.
