Amelia Shawl Pattern

The Amelia Shawl can be made from voile or knit fabrics – or knit it out of your favorite worsted or sport weight yarn. To get the feeling of sleeves for this shawl, we have used buttons and ribbon elastic to fasten the sides of the shawl together. Suggestions : Use a variety of colors and styles with your buttons, that match the colors in the outside of the shawl.

Materials: Sewn Version
54” wide voile or knit:
1 yard for outside (if cutting lengthwise)
     OR 1 1/2 yard for outside (if cutting crosswise)
1 yard for lining
1 1/4  yard 1/4” elastic ribbon
14 - 1” buttons

Materials: Knit Version
4 skeins worsted yarn (700 yards)
    or 7 skeins sport weight yarn (double stranded – 1400 yards)
Size US 9 - 24" circular needles
     Gauge: 4 sts to the inch.
