The Crazy Patch Flannel Quilt consists of 6 or 12 blocks that are set in different ways to make it appear on that the blocks are different. Flannels are used, and the blocks are foundation pieced on muslin. Crazy quilt stitching, done either by hand or machine, are used to embellish the blocks.
Materials Needed:
1 1/2 yard muslin for 12 block quilt (or 7/8 yard for a 6 block quilt)
1/4 or 1/3 yard of several flannels - we use at least 8 or 9 different prints
7/8 yard sashing for 12 block quilt (or 2/3 yard for a 6 block quilt)
1/2 (1/3) yard for inner border
1 1/4 (3/4) yard for outside border
(Note: If using a lengthwise directional fabric, get 2 1/2 yards for the 12 block quilt and 1 3/4 yards for the 6 block quilt.)
1/2 yard binding
4 yards backing (1 2/3 yards for 6 block quilt)
1/2 yard binding
60” x 74” quilt batting (46" x 60" for 6 block quilt)
