Our community was fortunate enough to experience the the total eclipse of 2017. The points of the modified New Your Beauty block makes me think of the sun and moon. This block has a gentle curve that is simple to piece. The color choices in our sample reminded me of the time right before the eclipse.

Materials:
3/4 yard for A, C, D, and binding
1 1/4 yards total for B1 (points) 2 ½” wide strips can be used or cut from yardage
1 1/4 yards total for B2 (background)
(2 ½” wide strips can be used or cut from yardage)
3/4 yard backing
15” x 66” batting

Foundations for making paper pieced blocks (at least 6 - 8 1/2" x 11" sheets)
Some examples are: EQ Printables Foundation Sheets, Carol Doak's Foundation Paper, & Quilter's Select Print & Piece. 
Heavy paper or template plastic for templates.
