This beautiful star quilt began as one of Lawry's mystery classes. The stars are "fractured," so that there are no "Y" seams necessary in this simple strip-pieced quilt. Strip piecing helps bring this quilt together quickly.

Materials Needed

1/4 yard each from 4 different fabrics or a total of one yard
of fabrics in the dark color family (Group 1 fabrics)
1/8 yard each from 4 different fabrics or a total of 1/2 yard of fabrics
in the contrasting color family (Group 2 fabrics)
2 1/4 yards of one fabric or a combination of fabrics for the background
5/8 yard for the filler strips
1/2 yard for the inside border
1/2 yard for the first outside border
1 yard for the second outside border

4 1/4 yards backing
1/2 yard binding
72” x 78” quilt batting
