Pattern: The Raven by Karla Alexander of Saginaw Street Quilts
Finished quilt size: 23" x 35"
The Raven wall quilt is an anatomically correct, paper pieced raven that sits atop a variegated ball of yarn with a faint moon in the background. Emphasize your own creativity and feel free to decide if you'd like to change the colors, add in some crazy accents, delete the ball of yarn and/or the moon, or keep both. Knowledge of paper piecing is not required, however, it is recommended. The 12" Add-A-Quarter Ruler is very useful with this pattern, but it is not required.
Kit includes the pattern, the background, and the fabric needed to make the raven.*
Note: Fabrics will vary from those in the original quilt.
To complete this kit you will need:
1 1/2 yards backing
34” x 43” lightweight batting
(Karla made her quilt with the "pillow-turn" method, so no binding is required.)
*If you wish to include the moon and yarn ball, you will require additional fabrics:
20+ colorful strips (1" x 20") for the ball of yarn and inner portion of the moon
5 - 10 scraps of fabric for the moon, approximately 5" x 5" each, yellow, gold, etc.
