Meandering along a stream on the Oregon Coast through old growth Sitka Spruce, you will arrive at Short Sands beach. Glorious patterns and textures greet you in rich golds, mellow greens, deep charcoal, and blue grays surround you on the hillside and along the shoreline where a fresh water creek meets the ocean. Soft Sands is Jean Wells' newest line of 100% cotton batiks, and for this kit we've paired it with Karla Alexander's Paint Chips quilt pattern to create a fun quilt with lots of movement.

Please note: When designing this pattern, Karla felt that a freehand cutting method would work best for cutting the fabric in to blocks to avoid a long list of different measurements. So, don't be surprised when you are unable to find exact measurements in the pattern. The instructions will guide you through the cutting process, with all of the blocks being cut from a simple rectangle.

Kit includes the pattern and everything you need to make the quilt top, including binding. 

To complete this quilt, you will need:

60" x 81" quilt batting
